How Do I get Free Government Laptops?
Looking for free laptop from the government? We’ve had a few people ask us lately how they can get a FREE laptop from the government, and if there are any programs available that give away free laptops.
There are programs in other countries to get a free government laptop. We are not aware of any programs in the US to get a free laptop from the government at this point in time.
This year in London the launch of the “Home Access” scheme was announced at the Learning and Technology World Forum 2010.
Until then, get a job and buy your own laptop!
IBM ThinkPad R32 will not see CDROM or DVD
Over the years I’ve seen this 50 – 75 times. A ThinkPad R32 that will not see the CD drive. On any other laptop I’d tell you the CDROM or DVD drive has failed, but the R32 gets a unique problem with the motherboard that causes it to stop recognizing CD drives.
You may find it interesting to know if you pt a floppy drive into the ultrabay the machine will recognize it.
The easiest solution is to simply hook up an external USB DVD drive when needed. You can even get a CDROM enclosure for your old CD/DVD drive from NewEgg for under $20.
