Retina display is a brand name used by Apple. The displays made by LG. LG makes many displays on the market. Apple uses retina display on displays claimed to have a pixel density so high that the eye would not be able to notice pixilation at a normal viewing distance. There is some criticism to this which can be found on the Wikipedia page for retina display.
